White Cabinet with Fluorescent Green Detail
Truth be told, this little cabinet would look cute painted in any colour, but I opted for white. I never paint white for several reasons:
1. most refurbished furniture can be found in white
2. bright and unexpected colour makes old pieces more relevant for today's living
3. using colour makes each piece a bit more one-of-a-kind
With this piece I wanted to go with a clean and fresh look. It is small yet ornate and I though that white would bring all its beautiful features to the forefront. To make the white pop a bit more and to make the piece unlike any other I paired the crispiness of the white with a punchy and happy fluorescent yellow. The key however was to use the colour only to accentuate the features, hence its application on the supporting column and the keyhole alone. This contrast makes it fresh, youthful but also bold and daring. It may not be to everyone's taste but the person that ends up falling in love with it is the one with exactly the same characteristics - unique, happy, edgy and at the same time cool and collected. Can't wait to see who it is.
