Mini Furniture for Your Jewelry

Here are some photos of what Karen and I have been up to in the last little while. We are reworking this miniature furniture pieces as par of our Freedom Reconstructed brand of products. Poppies at the Toronto Fall Home Show

Toronto Fall Home Show is happening this weekend in the city and a few of my Poppies have been selected to be represented as the part of the Etsy booth, curated by the talented HGTV designer Tara Fingold. New Poppy - Green Dresser with Ornate Details

When I first saw this dresser it left a little bit to be desired. The drawers were sticky, the frame a bit squeaky. Despite its deficiencies, I decided to take it under my wing and turn it into a beautiful and useful piece of furniture. A little bit of glue here, a screw three, some good sanding and this piece got a new lease on life and a chance to be admired and enjoyed all over again.

New Poppy - Gradient Painted Dresser

This dresser will make a statement wherever you choose to put it. Painted in gradient pattern with white on top and dark grey on the bottom drawer it is not your average piece of furniture. All drawers slide well, offer a ton of storage space and have been lined with leftover wallpaper. 
It is now available in my Etsy store.

Pale Blue Hutch/Cabinet

This hutch is multifunctional with an abundance of storage. Perfect for books, dishes, towels or additional storage in your bedroom. Painted stripes on the inside back wall add a pop of colour and add an element of playfulness. It is listed in my Etsy store, but already reserved for a wonderful customer.

Turquoise Shelf with Glass Doors

This piece has been in the works for quite some time as I could not decide what direction to take. In its original state it was quite unsparing and in my mind it was only the colour turquoise that would bring it to life. Just to make it tad bit more interesting I added the words on the back wall of the shelf. Something I had wanted to do for quite some time. In four languages (English, French, Italian and Croatian) this piece of furniture will tell you what it is.
To make things even more fun, it will be fettered as a part of the Etsy booth display at the upcoming Toronot Home Show (October 3-6) at the Direct Energy Centre. More info on the size are available on my Etsy page.

In the Works

Inspired by the look of paint swatches I have decided to do the same kind of gradient treatment on this high boy dresser. I hope to have the final coat of paint applied by Monday and listed in my Etsy shop some time next week. Enjoy the weekend everyone.

It has been a while since I last posted a picture of a fully finished Poppy. That is because I was busy with a number of custom orders but also because of the decision to take a few weekends off this Summer and enjoy the nice weather we have been having.
