New Reveal

A few days ago I posted a bunch of pics that included some projects waiting to happen. So here is one that I can take off my "to do" list. Isn't she pretty, looking all decked out with a ceramic turkey dish? She looks like a beautiful Tiffany jewelry box and will be listed in my Etsy shop real soon. Tomorrow though she will be gracing the space of Freedom Clothing Collective boutique at 939 Bloor Street West.

Odds and Ends

Here are a few things that have been going on around my household lately. A few pieces in various stages of being transformed, some gardening, new sales banners and the new addition to my dining room. A beautiful antique hutch that I am debating on whether I should paint or just leave as is, not a bad problem to have.

KooCoo

Hey Friends, today I have decided to share my blog with a very talented local artist that just recently decided to venture into Etsy world. I am super excited as the world will now be able to see and buy her wonderful creations. This talented designer is Toronto's own Karen Carrillo. She crafts under the name KooCoo and she is one of five fierce women to run Freedom Clothing Collective Freedom Clothing Collective on Bloor Street West in Toronto.
Karen works with scrap fabrics (material left over from dresses, skirts, couches, curtains, pillows …) and makes these wonderful little wallets to fit even the smallest of purses. The outside materials of most wallets are taken from last year’s fabric upholstery sample books that are no longer in print or circulation.

On occasion she also teams up with her mom and together they design fabulous wall pieces that would make a perfect addition to any home or cottage.

Jayden is an adorable little girl that needed a dresser, so her mom and my friend Nicole asked me to jump in and help them source and paint one. So here it is. Hope you like it.

Poppies now at The Purple Thumb in the Beaches

Green Living Show was not all about fun and meeting new friends. It was also about networking. As a result of the latter activity you can now find some Poppies at a Queen East boutique The Purple Thumb that sells & supports locally made & ethically produced products. They can be found at 1887 Queen Street East @ Woodbine in the Beaches in Toronto. Check them out and I am sure you will find something that will tickle your soul.

Green Living Show

Green Living Show was so much fun, but I would be lying if I said I wished it was still going on. I met tons of fun and interesting people and introduced Poppyseed to many Torontonians. Here are a few pictures from the Ecocessories booth. Jessica's jewelry and my furniture made a really awesome combo.

Toronto Green Living Show

Poppyseed Creative Living will be represented at the Toronto Green Living Show. Come by the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place between April 23-35 and visit boohs #122 (co-shared with Ecocessories) and booth #126 (co-shared with Freedom Clothing Collective) for a first hand Poppy experience. I will be looking forward to seeing you there.
